Updates - 8/22
Hi Everyone,
Great scrimmage Saturday! I am excited to see our boys start playing in games that count.
This will be our last week of practicing every night. Starting next week(Aug. 30th), we will only practice Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
This Wednesday, Aug. 25, we will practice be from 5:00-6:15. We will be scrimmaging the same team again, and would like to start at 5:15 so please have your child to practice promptly.
The make-up day for weigh-ins is Aug. 24th at Burgess Park in Alpine, I do not have a time yet. Please call or email me if your son did not get weighed in the first time. If any players fail to be weighed, they will automatically be "x-men" which will severely limit the positions they can play.
Below is a link to the site where our schedule can be viewed. I will consolidate our teams games and print it off so everyone has a hard copy as well.

Weigh-in Reminder
Hi Everyone,
The boys played great at the Jamboree. I have never had to showcase a team with less than 4 weeks of practice so I literally could not be more proud of your boys.
Quick reminder about weigh-ins tomorrow. We are scheduled to weigh in from 6:00-6:10pm. Please bring a copy of your son's birth certificate to leave with the league rep. If your son played for Lehi last year, you do not need to provide this.
Physicians will be on hand to provide physicals for $20. Your child needs to have a physical prior to the first game (estimated Aug. 28th). If your son has had one within the last 6 months, a signed form from the providing physician will suffice.
Thanks again,
Coach Blake

August 14th - LYF Jamboree
LYF Jamboree 2010 – Saturday, August 14
The 3rd Annual LYF Jamboree will be held Saturday August 14th at Lehi High School.
How it Works: Two teams will scrimmage for 30 minutes with their coaches on the field. This provides great coaching opportunities in a game atmosphere. Each team will take turns starting from the 50 yard line and run 10 offensive plays to go as far as they can or score. Coaches will officiate with a little help from Game Field Coordinators.
Why have a Jamboree: Not only does this event offer our youth football players the opportunity to play on the high school field, it is the main source of fund-raising for our league. It’s through this event that we pay for many of the supplies that are required to maintain and grow the league year over year. It’s through the yearly Jamboree where we hope to obtain enough financial assistance that it not be neccessary for our coaches and players to participate in the door to door, family and friends selling of 3rd party goods or services. So please come and support the Jamboree, please invite your extended family members to attend as well. We look forward to seeing everyone this coming Saturday.
All of us on the Board of Directors appreciate the support we receive from each and everyone of you. We hope that each of you in turn appreciate all the time and energy that your Head Coach and their staff donate in order to coach and train your son.
We also would like to thank our Sponsors for all of the financial assistance and resources they provide to help make Lehi Youth Football a success.
Suggested Admission Donations are $10 per family, $4 per adult, or $3 per student. (Note: As a token of our appreciation for the coaches and the time they donate to Lehi Youth Football we are suggesting coaches forgo any donation for admission into the Jamboree)
Cory Adams Photography will be taking individual and team photos after each scrimmage so please do not leave the High School until after your son’s team has had their picture taken. Photo packages will be available for purchase during the scrimmage.
Below is the most updated schedule of scrimmage times for this year’s festivities. (Note: Please check back often as these times are subject to change)

Practice Cut Short
Hi again,
Just a quick note to thank all the parents that were able to pick up their players yesterday. I know how busy life can get, and really appreciate you making the time to pick your sons up earlier than originally planned.
As most of you know, practice was cut short yesterday due to the thunderstorm warning issued for Utah County. In my 15+ years as a player or coach, I have never had a practice or game cancelled due to weather. Lightning can be dangerous for kids running around in an open field, and for this reason, is basically the only weather condition that warrants postponing games/practices. If it's raining, you can plan on still having a practice. If you see severe lightning, I would check the blog to see if a practice or game is cancelled.
I hope to see everyone at tonight's practice, rain or shine. Hopefully, no lighting.
Thanks everyone,
Coach Blake

Parents Meeting
Hi Everyone,
We will be having a parents meeting directly after practice on Saturday, August 7th. Practice will run from 8:30 to 10:00 Saturday morning.
The meeting shouldn't take too long, depending on questions, but should be a valuable use of your time relating to this season.
Thanks again,
Coach Blake

Weigh-Ins - August 16th 6-9PM at the Lehi Legacy Center
Weigh Ins on August 16th
All boys MUST attend an official weigh in or they will be considered X-Men (which means they cannot run the ball.)
Date: Monday August 16th
Time: 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Location: Lehi Legacy Center
We also will monitor Pleasant Grove's weigh in on Monday the 23rd so we will need volunteers to help with that as well. Please email info@lehiyouthfootball.com if you are available to help.
Tuesday the 24th will be the make up weigh in date. If your child has not been weighed by that time, they will automatically be X men for the first game…no exceptions. Make sure you attend one of these dates/times.

Getting Closer....(again)
Hi Everyone,
Rosters are finally set!
I apologize for all the confusion but after a late surge in registrations, we had no choice but to move kids around to build a three team system.
If you are receiving this email, I will be your son's coach this year. I am Coach Blake, and I am thrilled to start a new season with these young kids.
Our first practice will be at 6 PM on Monday, August 2nd. Please plan on practicing from 6-8 every weeknight until school starts. We will also have Saturday practices from 8:30-10AM. I am planning on practicing at Fox Hollow Elementary, this may change, but the first practice will definitely be at Fox Hollow.
Please have the boys dress appropriately for a non-padded practice. Shorts, T-shirts, cleats, and thier helmets(to accilmate them to the weight). I will have a water jug, and water bottles there but if you want to send your child with water, you are welcome to.
I have set up a blog to ensure information is easily accesible at all times, but please do not hesitate to email/call/text if you have questions, comments, or concerns. Below is my contact information and the link to the blog.
I would like to have a parents meeting on Saturday, August 7th at Fox Hollow. This will give everyone a chance to meet, as well as receive information about the upcoming season and how I run my teams. I normally like to have these meetings before the first practice, but this might give people a chance to see how practices are run, and maybe get any questions answered before they need to even ask.
Thanks again, and let's have a great year.

Getting Closer...
Hi Everyone,
The season is just around the corner and our rosters are finally set.
A few kids have been shuffled between the two 1st/2nd grade teams to ensure the teams have an even amount of kids. As of right now, we are going to move forward with the rosters as they sit now. If you received this email, I will be your son's coach this year. My name is Ryan Blake and I want to personally thank you for signing your kids up for football this year.
The time will fly between now and August 2nd so I wanted to get a simple calender of events out to everyone.
Wednesday and Thursday (July 28 & 29th)
Conditioning: 5:00-6:00 at Lehi Elementary
This is a great opportunity to have the kids get used to how a practice is run, meet thier team mates and coaches, and have fun. This is for all 1st and 2nd grade players in Lehi, so please don't worry about ensuring they are with the right group. The boys should be in shorts, cleats, and t-shirts. Please make sure they have water.
Thursday (July 29th)
Final Equipment Pick-up: 6:30-9:00 at First Lehi Storage
If your son does not have his equipment yet, please ensure you get to this pick-up session. It is intended to be the final session and it will save you a lot of trouble if you can make it.
Friday (July 30th)
Parents Meeting: 6:30 at Fox Hollow Elementary - Click here for map
This will give you a chance to meet the coaches, other parents and get any questions you may have answered. I will review our practice schedule, league rules, and many other aspects of our team. This meeting is specifically for our team, Lehi Youth Football - 1st/2nd - Blake. If you can not attend this meeting, please let me know, so I can get the information out to you.
Monday (August 2nd)
First Practice: 6:00-8:00PM at Fox Hollow Elementary (although the location may change)
This will be the first team practice. The boys should dress the way they do for conditioning - shorts, t-shirt, cleats. The only change here is the addition of the helmet. We won't be hitting for the first week or so of practice but it helps tremendously to get the kids used to running with the weight of the helmet. We will practice at this time every weeknight. On Saturdays, we will practice from 8:30 to 10:00. Once school starts, we will only practice 3 nights per week - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Finally, I have set up a team blog to ensure you have a place to go whenever you may miss any new announcements. I hope this will prove to be a valuable tool this year. Calling nearly 30 people is very time-consuming and rarely does it get the message to everyone in time. If you make a point to check this out weekly, it will save a lot of hassle. I hope at least. If anything is urgent, I will shoot out a mass email as well. Please take a moment to click the link below.

I am always available by phone, text or email so please do not hesitate to get any questions answered. I can be reached at this email (ryandblake@yahoo.com) or my cell: (801)867-9666.

2 weeks 'till our first practice...
With the start of the season just a couple weeks away, now is the time to get your boys used to a little running. A little conditioning goes a long way to ensure safe and fun practices. Making sure the kids are active, as well as hydrated, while outside will help soften the blow of a 6-day-a-week practice schedule. Let's get our boys exercising a little so their bodies are used to running in this weather.
That being said, let's not forget what this year is all about. Our main goals for the year are to learn as much as we can about the game of football, and more importantly, having fun.
Thanks,
Coach Blake

Welcome to Lehi Youth Football 2010 Season!
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to thank you all for signing up your boys to play football this year. It will be a lot of fun, I can tell already.
First of all, our equipment hand-out is Friday, July 9th from 6-7PM. Below is information I am sure you already have since Lehi Youth Football is so good at getting information out quickly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Introduction:
My name is Ryan Blake and I will be coaching your kids this year. I set up this blog to post information throughout the year about the team/league. I can always be contacted at ryandblake@yahoo.com or 801-867-9666.
I am in need of at least 2 assistant coaches for the year. If you would like to volunteer, please shoot me an email, text, or call. I need to turn the names in of all my coaches soon so if you are interested, let me know.
I will also need a team-mom. A team-mom will be responsible for getting information out, collecting waivers, organizing a treat schedule, and probably a hundred other things I am forgetting right now (hence the need for a good team-mom).
Being the first post, i don't have too much information to pass on other than the need to fill these spots and the equipment hand-out.
Thanks again and I look forward to a great year!

If you are experiencing financial hardship please email info@lehiyouthfootball.com to make special arrangements.

3. An equipment deposit check made out to Lehi Youth Football for $150 that will not be cashed unless you do not return the equipment at the end of the Season.
